I've owned these speakers for 8 years when they were priced at $250.00. I purchased them at a local Best Buy to complement an HP Pavilion (which is LONG gone) computer. These speakers have been connected to 3 different computers since their original purchase date. I've never had a single problem with these speakers from day one and they're still going strong. The sound quality is excellent at all levels of the sound spectrum and for all musical genres. Installation is simple and straightforward and took less than 5 minutes. My only real complaint is the location of the switch to shut off the power to the speakers. It's located on the back of the subwoofer and is a hassle if you desire turning off the speakers. I'm a bit disappointed the folks at Klipsch didn't give more thought to the placement of the power switch. It would've been much more convenient and logical to place the switch on one of the speakers instead of the subwoofer. However, that's a minor issue when you consider the superlative quality and clarity of sound with these speakers. Bottom line: buy these speakers and enjoy years of worry-free operation.
What's great about it: Sound, clarity, power, price, and dependability.
Use this Klipsch ProMedia 3-piece speaker system to enjoy brilliant sound when playing games, listening to music or watching videos on your computer.

Excellent Sound Quality, Poor Durability

I loved this specific speaker system―while it lasted. The bass is super rich, which tended to or sufficed my hip-hop/rap needs. Unfortunately, do to incessant use (I love listening to music in my dorm), they died on me (the system shorted and then started chugging out plums of secondhand), after three weeks of having purchased them. Best Buy was cordial in my return and I still hold a place in my heart for this Klipsch speaker system.
It's worth the risk, just be sure to keep the receipt and maybe, get an extended warranty.

Perhaps you've picked up a bad pair...which WILL happen on occasion regardless of WHAT product you buy. Period. I've had my Klipsch speakers for over 9 years and they're not only going as strong as when I took them out of the box and hooked them up to my first computer, but I've never experienced a SINGLE issue with them.
