This battery backup features 8 outlets for use with numerous electronics, including printers, monitors, scanners and more. EMI/RFI filters shield electromagnetic interference and a resettable circuit breaker lets you reset in case of an overload.

Died after one year

I thought I had a good deal on reliability, but then the power went out and so did my computer. That was the only way I knew the UPS was dead. Took it apart thinking it was the battery, but the battery was fine.
As an electronic technician I can tell you this was built using 1970's technology. Surprised it lasted so long (one year). Jumpers soldered on the board (indicating a missed trace during design), some traces badly soldered, power strip so cheap I'm surprised it got a UL certification. This was a true piece of junk.
This time I got a 550 APC for $20 more hoping it will last longer.
I have another Cyperpower on my wife's iMac and now I'm worried.
What's great about it: It provided power when the power went out (while it was living)
What's not so great: Only lasted a year, battery fine, so it was the electronics that gave out.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

What desktop and laptop would you buy for a contractor's office?

An Apple. I'm an electronic technician and computer programmer from 1980 till now and I've been battling with PC's trying to keep them running efficiently for 27 years. Finally got an iMac and fell in love. Solid Unix based software operating system, solidly built equipment and very quite as well and for about the same price. If you are needing things like Excel or Word or such, iWork is a great deal at $70. And it will read Microsoft created spreadsheets and documents.
If you have too, you still can run Windows on an Apple, you will just have to deal with Microsoft's buggy operating system and install a virus guard for when you use it.
