I learned photography on a Canon Eos Rebel G (film camera), and still own that camera and a variety of Canon lenses that go with it. My wife decided it was time to buy more than a point and shoot digital so we decided to go with the T3i. The features for the price are amazing, and it is a great camera for her to learn on. Best of all, is that all of my old lenses are compatible with this new camera.
If you are looking for some lenses to complement this camera I would recommend the EF 50mm f1.8 for portraits and great bokeh effect. The EF 28-135mm is a perfect everyday or walking around lense. You can take good close ups, and some medium distnace shots with it. The EF 70-300mm is a decent intro lense for long range shots. Once you've mastered these lenses you should save up for some L series lenses (much more expensive, but the highest quality). For real estate photography I would purchase a wide angle lense, and there are several to choose from that are good.
We've used our T3i for family portraits, videos of the kids, wildlife photography, and real estate photography. For the price, I think it is a great camera, and I have recommended it to several friends.

I have had my 8500 x50 for 5 years, and it has saved me from tickets on a long commute dozens of times. Most times I can detect a radar 60 to 90 seconds before I can see it.
I've gotten two tickets while using this unit. The first, I was driving in the hill country and when I came over a hill the trooper turned on his radar once he saw me. The device had nothing to detect as his radar wasn't on until it was too late. The second time I was driving I35 between San Antonio and Austin and the trooper got me with a laser. Once again, the x50 had nothing to detect until it was too late.
The 9500 has the GPS, but I personally don't need the added features or the added price, so this is the unit for me.

I've had a Sonos bridge for a month now, and I can't imagine not having it with my Play:3. The bridge is aesthetically pleasing, and the range is great. I have it plugged in in the front corner of my 2,000 square foot home, and I have a clear signal to use my Play:3 throughout the house and into the back yard.
Due to my experience with this device I plan on purchasing another Play:3, the Sonos Playbar, and the Sub. Very easy to use, and the sound quality is great.

I've had my Sonos Play:3 for a month now, and I have to say that it was a fantastic purchase. I read some reviews that stated the volume didn't get very loud, and that the bass response was lacking. I totally disagree. The bass response is amazing for such a small device, and even at full volume you retain clarity. I have it plugged in in my office at the front of my house, and can clearly hear it from my kitchen, living room, and den without having to move the device. It gets much louder than I expected.
I have used my iPhone, iPad and Macbook to control the Play:3, and find myself using the iPhone most frequently. The only issue I've had was difficulty playing my iTunes library from my Macbook. After a quick review of the Sonos support page I resolved the issue and was enjoying my library. I also purchased the bridge so that I can play wirelessly throughout the house. I recommend it.
Based on my experience I plan on purchasing another Play:3, the Playbar, and the Sub for my living room.
