I've used 4 different brands of fm transmitters and Griffin's seem to work the best as far as consistency goes. However, this is the 2nd kind of fm transmitter from Griffin that I've owned, and I've noticed they don't seem to last very long. I've had this less than 7 months and already I am looking to replace it because the part of the cable that plugs into my ipod has broken. The Griffin itrip I owned before was a wireless one, that for some reason after about 2-3 months decided to only work occasionally. However, there's less static with this than any other I've used and it's VERY easy to find a station that it works well with. I make a 90 mi one way trip 3-4 times a week and I rarely, if ever, have to find a new radio station.
I'm hesitant to shell out another $70 for a product that I might have to replace in less than a year. Regardless, this has worked better than any other fm transmitter I've ever used, and I've gone through many. I guess I'll try out a cheaper one and if that doesn't work I'll buy this again.
What's great about it: less static, easy to find a station
