Dave's still got it.

Thirteen just goes to show you that Dave still has the metal gene and doesn't give in to the masses. The songs on this album range from hard core politics to cars to spurned love. But what Megadeth album doesn't have this?? The song Thirteen is amazing while public enemy no 1 takes you down a dark path. Musically, it's full of thick riffs, wicked solos, and crazy drumming. Even though Dave's voice isn't what it was, the songs relay the emotion you want from a metal album.
What's great about it: Heavy, fast, and metal
What's not so great: Nothing

More real than ever.

Been playing Battlefield games since they started with 1942. This edition of the series offers the most complex and challenging online yet. This is not an arcade shooter. If your looking for that, then look elsewhere. Battlefield 3 is a team style game. You can't win much by trying to do everything yourself. You get rewarded for helping your team and squadmates. The two basic styles of play are similar to the previous game but with much better and large maps; and the ability to play as different types of soldiers is very satisfying. The four soldier profiles each offer their own brand of fighting but only work well if you work with your team. Many unlocks are available as well as leveling your primary weapon to create your own personal weapons to wreak havok with. Conquest is great but the Rush mode is where this game really challenges you. The graphics are sound are fantastic. The story mode is there but I don't recommend it. Play online and enjoy it. Just remember that the learning curve is high.
What's great about it: The online combat simulation.
What's not so great: Story mode isn't really worth much.

SynopsisYou grip the wheel of your tricked-out GTR, feeling the pressure of the race weigh down on you. The driver behind you taps your bumper and, for a second, you can't see anything but your lap. You're forced to the right and scrape the guardrail. You cringe, wondering how bad it looks. This is the last race before the FIA GT1 world championship. It's your chance to prove you have the ultimate racing machine and the mettle to defeat all those who oppose you. Shift 2 Unleashed puts you directly in the driver's seat with the all-new helmet cam that simulates driver head movements for the most realistic driving experience yet. You feel every impact, every bump, every scrape, and the scars stick with you ~ and your car. In this exciting installment from the critically acclaimed Shift franchise, you aren't limited to one type of racing. Choose to race muscle cars, compete in endurance races, trick out retro cars and more. Keep your friends posted through it all with the new Autolog system that lets you compare driver profiles and career statuses, share and comment on pictures and video, send challenges and much more. The battle won't end at the finish line ~ are you ready for a racing game this realistic and this intense?

Fun racing game

Shift 2 is definately a better, more complete packaged racing game than it's predecesor. The cars and the tracks look great. The effects are wicked when you crash! Plenty of cars to choose from with numerous cars to unlock as you progress through the game's various ranks. Not as much emphasis on drifting [thankfully] and the game feels more like a simluation then in the first game. Customizing the car is good but the car doesn't seem to change much when you create a custom setup. Also, the steering feels sluggish and unforgiving at times. I've been paying racing sims for years and this one just doesn't seem to feel too good, even after tweaking the sensitivity. However, if you use the steering help, this seems to aid in keeping the car from over-steering. But this is a small point anyways. If you like a fast paced semi-arcade, semi-sim racing game, than this game will give you a good time. Just wait to hit over 150 mph and see the nasty motion blur!
What's great about it: Easy to pick up and play and quick to level and buy new cars.
What's not so great: Steering is so-so but not that bad.

What could have been.

Too Human is an action RPG game set in a futuristic sci-fi world putting the gamer in the role of Baldur, a Nordic God. The game doesn't offer much in both story or gameplay. The developers create a world of long hallways in which you fight seemingly the same enemies over and over again. The frustrating part is that you cannot keep healing potions on your character to use later on when you actually need them. Dying becomes frequent which causes you to yell and scream as you watch a loooong cut scene of your death. There is very little forgiveness in this game either. The fighting becomes horribly redundant with a mix of ranged weapons and melee weapons with a ton of backing up as you are swarmed easily by the hordes of enemies causing you to die often. The skills you develop don't seem to do much to accent the repetitive battles. Overall, this game should have been open ended, skills that are fun to use, and with more exploration.
What's great about it: Not much, the fighting early on is fun but gets old fast.
What's not so great: Lack of good RPG system; hallway fighting style

Another wonderful game from Bethesda.

I've played all of the Elder Scrolls games and this one doesn't disappoint but it lacks the overall depth of the previous games. The areas do re-spawn the enemies and will get tougher as your character levels up but the quests become dull as the game goes on. The main quest is long but not very fruitful as the story is intersting but not very creative. It feels more of a chore to finish the main story but this doesn't take away from the overall game. Class structure can limit or reward you if you match your character traits to your style of play. Leveling is based upon your usage of a skill, more sword play and you level it up, that sort of thing. The game feels dumbed down compared the previous in terms of skills and upgrading. However, this game does improve on the fighting system, which becomes more of a focus in this game. The character developement through choosing which guilds to join are quite enjoyable with nice story lines to follow and quest items that are worth achieving. The add-ons are worthy as well, with the Shivering Isles being an excellent story.
What's great about it: RPG elements, graphics, ease of play
What's not so great: Not the best story

Best Fallout in the series.

Even though the original and sequel were great turn based 3rd person style RPGs, this new Fallout takes the game into the new generation of gaming. Bethesda has done an awesome job with grabbing the Fallout universe and adding reeal time fighting along with the classic PIPBoy aiming system. The game is huge, with tons of great quests, items, and multiple story lines to follow. You can play this game through more than once and play with a different style in mind, such as the good or bad character. Also, the add-ons are fantastic. I advise the GOTY version that has the add-ons.
What's great about it: Truly everything
What's not so great: Level cap at 30

I bought this game for my wife who's a monster Beatles nut. Prior to the game, I wasn't much a fan of their music but now I am. Unlike the other Rock Band games, the Beatles characters are shown with some great backgrounds [others are them in studio]. This game is graphically great, with a good challenge and lots of downloadable content.
What's great about it: Fun, fun, fun and addictive
What's not so great: You get many great songs but so many others are available on download only.

Solid Dungeon crawler, item RPG

Sacred 2 is a good step up from the first game. The visuals are solid and colorful, the fighting is often and will make you use your skills to win. This game offers over 600 side quests, none of which you have to solve, but does add length to the game. There are 6 character types with many different variations of characters due to the extensive skills section. Overall, not a deep game at all, but packed with action and fighting. Diablo gamers would like this one.
What's great about it: Action oriented, open-ended world, tons of items, good magic and skills upgrading
What's not so great: No expansion pack available for 360, only 4 player online mode, no random areas

Best Battlefield Yet
on March 23, 2010
Posted by: ZConnor

It seems that Battlefield keeps re-inventing itself. This latest game is a multiplayer onslaught of great visuals, powerful gameplay, and squad-based tactics. If you don't work together, it's tough to win in the online play. Unlike other online war sims, this one really makes you work together with your squad. The game offers tremendous customization with your weapons, gadgets, ect. as well as some fantastic vehicles including Apache and Hind choppers to tanks and water crafts. Simply the best online action I've played.
What's great about it: Vehicles, huge maps, visuals, customization, weapons, mulitplayer
What's not so great: Single player lacks excitement of multiplayer
