Yep welcome to the new generation of updated technology. There are cables that are universal but the sound will not be as great - I don't understand why but its a fact. It's probably time to upgrade. Out with the old and in with the new.

I need to find someone to come out and splice my HDMI cable and add a new tip to it. Can you recommend someone?
I've tried that to save money and I was advised to just buy a new cord to or prevent damage to TV connection. That advice from my brother in law who is a penny pincher.
