Simple Yet Effective, With Quality

I've used a holder that mounts on your windshield through a suction cup. It worked fine...when the suction cup held. After a while, the dirt on the windshield or the cup weakened the suction, especially when the weather turned cold. This design has a small clip that goes over a vane in your AC duct in the dash panel. The holder mounts on that (and does't have to be taken off). I was leery about what this might do to the vane, but see no effect. The two padded sides of the holder are squeezed together by hand to lock your phone in place. These sides release quickly when you press a button. The only concern you should have is whether the positioning on a vent, within reach of your touch while driving, will give you a good view of the screen without interfering with your access to car controls.

Not Perfect, End to End

The end that holds the phone works very well. Adjusting to phone size is straightforward, and the grip is firm.
The problem is at the other end, with the suction cup. The manual lever to apply the suction is very difficult to move while trying to hold the cup on a windshield. On a warm windshield, it develops enough suction to work, but as the weather turned colder, I could not get the suction cup to hold.
I guess there could be something defective in the one I got. I had a different brand with a much better mechanism that never failed in the cold.
A small issue is that the adjustable neck for positioning your phone does move around noticeably, shaking the phone when you go over a rough road. Not a deal killer; more of a slight annoyance.

A Quality Drive For Shipping Files

This is a nice compact 1Tb hard drive that appears to be very rugged. It's capacity and small size make it quite useful for transferring large video files with a minimal shipping charge. The NTFS format accepts larger files (more than the 4Mb of FAT32), and can be read by Macs (and written to with 3rd party software such as Tuxera). Or, the drive can be reformatted in HFS+ format for use with Macs. This is now my drive of choice for portability.

Format to XFAT so a MAC can save to this EXHD?
How Can this model be re-formatted to XFAT to enable it to save files from multiple MAC laptops?
One of the "reviewsers" wrote that is what they had to do to use at different schools with different
IT restrictions. Plus the reviewer did not want to down "useless software" and bloat their Mac laptop.

The Macs should be able to use Disk Utility (found in Applications/Utilities) to reformat the drive as XFAT. This ability was introduced with MacOS 10.6, so any Mac laptop using 10.6 or later also should be able to write to the drive.
