Grindhouse is no Grind

I am probly one of the VERY few that have an appreciation for the "grindhouse" genre of films. Mostly cheaply made films that were made in the mid-1960's through the early 1990's. Tarintino is also a fan of said genre. Tarintino/Rodriguez made a concerted effort to make a film that looked & felt like the old grindhouse films of that era. while not compleatly successfull, it does bring about a wave of nostalgia for those now almost forgotten days

Great Price for a Set of Classics

I bought this for 3 reasons. 1) I am a movie buff. 2) Even though I had the 2 Ray Harryhousen classics, I didn't have The Giant Claw & Mothera classics. & 3) Mill Creek Entertainment is great!
With that being said, this is really a bargin base price for 4 excellent "Classic" movies in one set. One will LOVE this all the way around

Remake Sadness

I was greatly sadend when it was announced they would be "Remaking" A Nightmare On Elmstreet. I mean the Original is a Classic and find nothing at all arong with it. I will admit, my only reason for purchasing this, was because I had purchased the A Nightmare on Elmstreet collection on Blu-Ray & The Friday The 13th collection on blu-ray. And Found that the Friday the 13th Collection included the Remake of the Friday the 13th. And figured, dispite my disappointment, I might as well round it out & purchase the A nightmare on Elstreet remake as well.
I will say that dispite my disappointment in having a remake, it's not really that bad. The f/x are much better than the original. They actually show Freddy getting burned to death. And the way they Make Freddy look, is a little scarier.
But you know something? Despite that, I am still a die hard fan of the original. I don't regret purchasing the Remake but sometimes a remake isn't needed when the original was allready good.

New Genre Twist

I saw this in the movie theatre when it came out. I was taken in by the fact that this movie used a combination of the "Found Footage" genre & regular cinemetography for the movie. It made a good blend for this Supernatural Horror Thriller.
The acting was usual par for course with a good cast including Ethan Hawke. And not to gory

The Scorpions Go Greek

I have been a Scorpions fan for years. I was suprised to find their recent album was "Unplugged". So I immediately purchased it. They sound better Unplugged than they ever have. Not that they were bad before. It seems that the Unplugged experience with them was really a new musical level for them.
