Lackluster 3D Presentation

While the 2D Blu-ray presentation is strong and was AV demo material when it was released, the post-conversion 3D presentation is lacking. The sense of depth is inconsistent. Don't get me started about how Asimov's cerebral robot stories have been turned into a brainless actioner. Although it certainly does not stay true to the source material, it's a fun movie and Will Smith, as usual, delivers.

I got this item as a freebie for purchasing another PS4 accessory at Best Buy. While it gets the job done, it is pretty bulky and takes up quite a bit of space. If you are buying a charger for a controller, you may wish to consider one that holds 2 or more controllers.

You can always count on HBO to make quality TV. This John Adams biopic, based on David McCullough's excellent book, is outstanding. The performances by Paul Giamatti and Laura Linney are great. the period costumes are convincing.

Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Returns is considered to be one of the finest, if not the best, Batman story ever told. This package includes a hardcover version of this masterpiece and the animated version on Blu-Ray and DVD with a UV digital copy. While the animated version is very good, it lacks the internal monologs characteristic of Miller's work.

It includes the unrated version of Live Free or Die Hard that was missing from prior collections. It omits the bonus disc (Making of Die Hard) found in the latest 4-movie collection and the Nakatomi Plaza collector's edition.
No new transfers, so if you own any of the previous movies, there is no improvement in video quality over prior releases.
