Debra, there are extension cables available. They are usually at least 10 ft. long and beyond.

Can you help me! Need a cable cord for my notebook computer/Monitor

My notebook screen on my HPg60 just went fuzzy last week. I can still see the screen but its very dark. I have a monitor that's capitible with it. I have windows vista. Looking for a cable that can connect to both notebook and monitor. Can you please help me? The cable cord I believe is a VGA cord.Has fifthteen tiny holes in the outlets.

Sorry you're having trouble Joyce. This will fit any standard VGA port on most laptops. Once the cord is in place you should get an image on your monitor. If you don't, check your connections, make sure your monitor is turned on. You may have to restart your laptop for the computer to recognize the new connection.
This is plug and play for you, so if it doesn't work at all, you may have something else to deal with.

Will this fit a Dell desk top?

Yes, this will work fine for any VGA port on any PC. Literally plug and play, if you don't get an image, make sure your monitor is turned on or you may have to restart your computer for it to recognize the connection.
