We have 2 long hair RagDoll cats and this has really saved us a lot of sweeping and vacuuming every day. The only bad thing is the hair gets in the rolls, so ever day we have to hunt the machine down and cut the hair off the rollers. Also it knocks over the silk flowers, and gets stuck on a slop of a candy machine.

My parents do not have WiFi in their home nor do they have smart phones ( I know, I know lol) Can this only be controlled via the app or can you bypass and do it one the unit?
No, it doesn't have to have wifi or app on the phone. You can set it up for days and times, or I just hit the button when I'm walking out the door to go to work. May want to save the $$ and get the slightly cheaper one that doesn't have the wifi.
