This is the first printer that I purchased with the instant ink capability. I am still in the trial period but already have received a shipment of ink. I really think this will be the best way to go as there have been many times that I have run out of ink and can't complete a project until my next trip to buy ink. The cost is very reasonable too. I had another brand and continually had problems getting it to print legibly. It isn't used a lot and the ink seems to dry up quickly in the other system. I even put in new cartridges and they didn't last long. HP continues to give good quality text and images no matter how often it is used.
