I wanted the fire TV so I have everything in one place, so this does that. I can access most of the subscriptions I have, including Amazon prime, Netflix, Spotify, Youtube. and it keeps everyone entertained,

I need a smart TV to be able to used?
I have a smart TV as well but it has become slow over the years and it does no longer offer youtube, so I got this fire tv so I can watch youtube and have the other things my Tv offered but faster. So if your smart tv is new then Fire TV probably does the same thing, My tv is about 5 years old so this helps out a lot, and my smart tv does not have voice recognition so thats a plus, hope that helps.
