An good choice.

Radio works fine, even under winter clothing. Weather band works outside, close to a window or metal. 'Belt' clip is a little too tight to fit over sweatpants waistband.

AM reception

Hi..all I am looking for is a small AM radio that I can use to listen to sports talk radio while I ride the train to and from work. Sounds simple, but everything I try fails. I assume the train interferes with the reception, but this is absurd. Help!

It is not absurd. The metal in the train car absorbs the AM signal. Unless your AM receiver has an extendable antenna, it will not be able to pick up an AM signal consistently. OR, you could install an external antenna outside the train...like your road vehicle has.

My radio will only play for a few seconds and then shuts off. What could be causing this?

Does it have a clip to attach it to a belt?

A belt clip is included. It's a little tight to fit over sweats but works find on plain elastic waistbands.
