Dryer is definitely safe. Our outlet was not producing enough voltage for the dryer and the dryer stopped working. We were worried it broke the dryer but once we replaced the outlet and the dryer worked wonderfully. I was very impressed at the safety feauture, plus it has childlock which is great use for me with the little ones running around the house.
