Survive in an incredibly creepy planation mansion in Resident Evil 7: Biohazard. A return to form

While far from perfect, Resident Evil 7 is a valiant effort by Capcom to return the series to its survival horror roots. Now being played from a first person persepctive, progression through the game mirrors that of the classic entries in the series that were released prior to Resident Evil 4. Elements such as exploration, backtracking, puzzle solving, finite ammo/supplies, and save rooms have all made a return.
The unlockable "Madhouse" difficulty also removes almost all checkpoints and forces you to use cassette tapes, of which there is a limited amount, to manually save your game. Fans of the older Resident Evil games will recognize this as the typewriter/ink ribbon system used in those games. My issue with this is that it should have been implemented in all difficulties, not just Madhouse. When playing on Easy or Normal, there are ample checkpoints and you can manually save your game as many times as you want. Having no consequences for death goes a long way in negating the survival aspect of survival horror.
Speaking of survival horror, Capcom certainly nailed the horror part. This is, in my opinion, the scariest game in the Resident Evil series by a fair margin. The game also supports virtual reality. I only played it the normal way and I can only imagine how scary it must be in VR.
I did have some issues with the game. The final third of the game is much weaker than the first two thirds and is a bit jarring the first time you play it. The game also suffers from a severe lack of enemy variety.
When all is said and done, I applaud Capcom for finally listening to the fans and attempting to create a true survival horror experience for the first time in 15 years. This game is a far cry from the action oriented direction that the series took starting with Resident Evil 4 and is much more in line with the earlier games in the series. If you're looking to scratch that classic survival horror itch, Resident Evil 7 might be just what the doctor ordered.

A Criminally Underrated Game

As a huge fan of the series, I can confidently say that Mass Effect: Andromeda is an excellent Mass Effect game. This game got a bad reputation due to it releasing in a very unpolished state. However, it has since been patched multiple times and nearly all of the bugs and poor animations have been fixed.
No, it is not perfect. But what game is? Looking back on the original trilogy, each game had its own unique problems. I can't find any real flaws in this game that weren't also present in at least one of the previous Mass Effect games.
As a diehard Mass Effect fan, I thoroughly enjoyed this game and put well over 100 hours into it. It's filled to the brim with endearing characters, fun combat, and a sense of exploration not felt since the first game in the series. Andromeda is a fantastic follow-up to the Mass Effect trilogy.

A nice basic phone

The LG B470 is an old fashioned flip phone that works well for talk and text. It is also decent for the occasional picture taking and light web browsing (although it does not support Wi-Fi).
My biggest complaint about this phone is that every time you want to open your contacts, the phone tries to connect to some "Address Book" service. Unless you press the "Cancel" button during this process, it takes an extremely long time to get to your contacts. Because a single button press remedies the situation, however, this is not a huge deal.
If you or someone you know needs an AT&T cell phone and does not want a smartphone, the B470 gets the job done.

After many years of delays and development troubles, The Last Guardian was finally released for the PlayStation 4 in 2016. The latest game from the genius mind of Fumito Ueda, the man behind Ico and Shadow of the Colossus, The Last Guardian lives up to its pedigree. In fact, this game moved me in ways that even Ico and Shadow of the Colossus never could.
From a gameplay and graphics perspective, The Last Guardian is very much the true successor to Ico. Much like in that game, the main character and his companion must navigate together through beautiful environments by solving puzzles, with the ultimate goal of escaping to freedom. Although it began development as a PlayStation 3 title, the game is visually stunning. It has all of the hallmarks of a Fumito Ueda game, including a more graphically advanced version of his distinct visual style and incredible animation that tells a story all by itself.
The Last Guardian is more than a game; it is an experience. If there was ever an argument for video games being art, this is it. I highly recommend it.
