Does this model require a specific type of detergent?
I am aware that some HE washing machines need the new HE washing detergent (looks like pills or small balls), and I was wondering if that is required for this model? I have filtered well water, but I just wanted to know if it is needed.
This machine does not require HE detergeant as my standard liquid detergent works great.

Yes the washer has separate detergent,softner, and bleach trays.

Does the lid lock when it's running? If so is there a way to disengage the lock?
Yes the lid does lock and I have not found away to disengage the lock once machine starts filling.
