Rating applies only to the poor scheduling experience. There were multiple last second cancellations and broken communications. Best Buy puts up barriers to their delivery vendors helping the customer when things on their end go wrong.
Not reflected in the rating was the excellent service provided by the techs. They were efficient and courteous. After all the screw-ups getting the unit to my house, the techs were a pleasure.

states a 1 year warranty on parts/labor for the surge protector itself and a lifetime equipment warranty covering up to $200K in damages. If the surge protector fails (due to a malfunctioning plug port etc) after 1yr is there coverage for equip or not?
With the exception of a couple very high-end brands, the OEM will never concede their product was at fault. The number and types (e.g., whole house electrical inspection) of proof they will demand will negate the value of the item damaged.
Note: in major surges, the protector should "fail" thus protecting the equipment. Which is different than failing to protect.
But, to directly address your question, yes, the strip could be out of warranty, but the equipment could be (in theory) covered.

What is the maximum load in Watts this will handle before the built-in circuit breaker trips? Specs say it is 105 Ams and 400 volts. That would be about 42000 Watts... that can't be right!?
I believe all consumer grade strips top out at 25 amps. I'd only trust the 2100 joules of protection spec. Besides, circuit breaker trips are finicky and hard to predict.
It is strange for the supposed OEM to have bad specs, except for China products. I noticed a number of strips in Best Buy with no specs on the package. So, buyer beware.
