All around, an excellent choice of tablet

After looking at scores of tablets over the years, I took the plunge and bought this Samsung Galaxy Tab 3.0 8" (and isn't that a mouthful) tablet. The screen is gorgeous. The tablet feels rock solid (and I have dropped it a couple times with a cover on). It is not so small that you might as well be using your phone, nor is it so big that it becomes difficult to hold and use a the same time.
Having said all that, a couple of thoughts. The IR Blaster may or may not be a good idea, but I have never used it. I have a number of devices, each with a remote, and I don't think this one device would replace them all. If all you have is a tv, it may work great for you.
The television schedule program included with the device is nice for day to day usage, but does not help me. I need to see what will be coming up days in advance. Luckily, this is an Android device and I could find just the right app for me.
The biggest complaint I have is that even now, months after the release, you cannot get a cover made for this device. They have covers for the 7 inchers and the 10 inchers and the Note tablets, but you have to go generic to protect your 8 incher. And when you do, you have to compromise. A cover for a 7 inch tablet is almost the exact size of this 8 inch table. It will protect the screen but the edges are just slightly exposed and can dent if dropped edge on. A cover for a 9 inch tablet is way oversized.
Summary: An excellent size, solidly built and beautiful screen. Very easy to use for anyone raised on PCs and/or Android devices. Apple users who dig into their system should have no problem, but those who require the constant handholding that Apple provides may have difficulty. Now, if only they would sell a properly sized cover for it . . .

Keep your windshield clear with this dashboard mount that features a nonskid backing and safety anchor to ensure the mount stays firmly in place. The mount stores easily, leaving no sign of a GPS device in the car.
How does this mount to the dash? I don't want adhesives, it's a new car.
It is strictly a mass held in place by gravity. No screws, no adhesives. Its ability to stay in place is based solely on the flatness and slickness of your dash.
