I was happy to get a couple more cubic feet in a counter-depth refrigerator because the kitchen is really small. I've had stainless steel before that showed EVERYTHING, so am thrilled to have a carefree finish on this one.
On the downside, having a crisper drawer on each French door side is okay, but not sure who's idea it was to put a third, wide, shallow drawer under them. It's difficult to hold open both French doors to get what I need from the wide, shallow drawer under the crispers.

I'm not sure, but it seems stainless hoses would be more durable and more flexible than the old rubber hoses that tend to dry-rot and crack over time. If they're exposed, they certainly look better than the old black rubber stuff.

I don't know who designs these machines, but they clearly don't do laundry or they would know that we don't need all these exotic settings/cycles. I usually end up using a straight, timed dry for delicates or the regular stuff. And that lint trap! Whose idea was that??? I can barely get my little fingers in there to clean it out. And none of my vacuum attachments fit into it to clean it out properly--what a pain! But what frustrates me most is that my clothes come out more wrinkled than they did with my old machine. I hate having to iron t-shirts and exercise clothing because everything comes out looking awful--worse than if I slept in it! Using a dryer sheet helps a little, but I mostly try to get things out before the cycle ends, while they're still a little damp, so that I can smooth out the wrinkles and hang everything in the basement to finish drying before I iron. Yeah, it's a pain. So much for technological improvements.

Really. I bought seven appliances altogether and totally forgot to make sure that I had picked a self-cleaning oven. I didn't realize it until many weeks after it had been installed in my new kitchen. And I'm disappointed that the salesman didn't mention it since he did go into detail about the frig--water/ice on the door, icemaker, counter-depth, etc. Oh well. I'll just have to be more careful and pay attention to the details next time. I LOVE having 5 burners on a black stovetop and the moveable grill to do pancakes on. Also happy that I switched from white appliances to the fingerprint resistant stainless...totally worth it!

If I were to put 2 of these side to side in a commercial office kitchen, how much clearance do I need between the fridges for the doors to open?
I was worried about that because my old frig was up against a wall on the left and when I had my kitchen remodeled before the holidays, the contractor assured me that he could swap it with the cabinet on the right, but I didn't like that configuration. So one night after work before the appliances were to be delivered, I stopped by the store and asked with one of the sales guys. He showed me that Whirlpool makes the doors now so that you don't have to worry about that. When open, they are flush with the sides of the frig. Don't laugh, but when I saw your question, I immediately went into the kitchen and opened my frig doors to make sure!
But...and this is really important, I would still leave a little room so that the motors get enough air circulating and don't overheat. That's what happened to an older refrigerator I had that was enclosed by cabinetry. It overheated and eventually burned a hole in my kitchen floor!
