Tom Savini's remake of George A. Romero's highly influential horror classic gets a dignified presentation on DVD. Night of the Living Dead has been given two transfers for this edition, a letterboxed version in the widescreen aspect ratio of 1.85:1 (which is also enhanced for anamorphic playback on 16 x 9 monitors), and a pan-and-scan transfer at 1.33:1. The original English-language audio has been mastered in Dolby Digital Surround, while a dubbed track in Portuguese appears in Dolby Digital Mono. Optional subtitles in English, Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese, Korean, and Thai are included. Among the bonus materials on this release are a commentary track from director Savini, a short documentary on the making of the movie, notes on the production, biographies of the cast and crew, and the original theatrical trailer.
