HE is "high efficiency ". It is detergent made specifically for HE washers, which use significantly less water than non-HE washers.

HE detergents are readily available at the grocery store, and you use considerably less per wash than regular detergents.

Only use HE detergents in HE washers, and dont use non-HE detergents in HE washers.
