I was kind of hoping this entertaining series had run it's course after the 1st three. I was hesitant to even watch this one because I just expected it to be a Jack Sparrow vehicle that would be nothing else. It turned out to be a good movie and though I wouldn't rank it above any of the other Pirates movie, I'm glad that I purchased it. Bring on #5.

Why all the hype?

It was a decent movie, but I thought it was overhyped. Excellent acting but I found myself somewhat bored through most of the movie. I will revisit this in hopes that I can find what so many seemed to see in this film, but after 1 viewing, I just failed to "get it".

It's a Sandler movie with video games!

OK, so I check my brain at the door on any Adam Sandler movie. Being a kid in the 80's, I love anything set or based on the 80s, so I really enjoyed this. My expectations weren't exactly high, so it didn't take much to exceed my expectations and there was enough humor, action and 80s to keep me interested and entertained.

A horror musical that made me sleepy

Yes, I was aware of what this was going into it, but still had no idea what to expect. I believe this will improve after multiple viewings, but my first impression was more bordom than anything else. I'm not a fan of most musicals where actors are singing. I can appreciate the talent of most Broadway actors/actresses in musicals. It just doesn't always translate to the screen. I'm a huge Burton/Depp/Bonham-Carter fan, but this just seemed to miss the mark for me. I certainly will give it more tries, but I initially think it is just not my cup of tea.

The previous Carrie blu-ray release had plenty of extras. But, as usual, Shout Factory has trumped all prior releases. If you are a fan and want the definitive edition, it's well worth the extra $10 to step up to this release.

1. Yes. In fact, I have both versions of Insignia Voice Smart (Portable and the smaller (non-portable) versions) and prefer them over my google home (the smaller google home). They both have a clock, will show temperature (briefly on demand) and I think they both sound great. The non-portable is smaller and lighter (great for smaller spaces) and the portable is larger, has better sound (then the smaller and google home) and you can move it around the house (or take it outside and cast music from your phone).
2. No. It is basically the same as google home. You just need a wi-fi connection and a smart phone. Setup is mostly easy, but may take a few tries.
3. It uses the google home app on your smartphone. As stated earlier, it works just like a google home device.
4. It does not work with Alexa, Echo or Amazon Music. My lone disappointment thus far is that, as a Music Unlimited subscriber on Amazon, I can't listen to that on any google related device. Google home runs some of the same basic apps as Alexa (pandora, iHeartRadio, etc), but Amazon music. Maybe one day this will change, but for now, I just have both (or you can bluetooth your Amazon music from your phone).
