No better than the front of the store brands.

I was disappointed with these Sennheisers(I ultimately went with the momentums which I got on sale for ~$200). They did not sound that great for the price. These would definitely need an amp and dac to sound good(making it more financially worth it to just spend more on better headphones, even higher than the momentums). For those looking at these I recommend the momentums(you can read my review of them(ivory color), much better neutral sound. However the sennheiser 598 I hear is excellent, but would most likely need a proper amp and dac to sound the best(I have not heard the 598s myself so take that with a grain of salt). The Sennheiser headphones are tucked away in the magnolia section instead of upfront which I found inefficient for the consumer. I also would have liked a larger range of models from Sennheiser available like the 598, and other "real" headphone brands like Shure.

Compared to my old one that I had used with my moto x years ago(for a lot cheaper), the suction cup is not concaved enough in the starting position, thus leading to a final poor vacuum on the windshield not powerful enough for the rigidity of the unit. Regardless of all my tricks I use with suction cups(clean surface and somewhat thick viscose liquid aka saliva ;) ) it would take forever to get it in the right position to hold(god forbid you touched it). However the bendable arm is strong, as is the padded compression unit to hold the phone. So I modified it with a tripod and use it for hands free video hangouts. Would've been 5 stars if the suction was more powerful.

Enjoy a full, clear sound with these Sennheiser Momentum M2 AEG IVORY headphones. The portable design and sound-isolating technology make it easy to listen to music and talk on the phone while traveling, and the in-line remote controls music and volume.

Is the volume control/mic on these M2s only going to work for Samsung Galaxy?

I noticed on Sennheiser's website that they have a drop-down menu that lets you choose your device's manufacturer, but on your website it says "Samsung Galaxy and Android devices". If I purchase these off of Best Buy's website, will it work with an LG Nexus 5, for instance?
The volume buttons don't work on my note 2, but I can pause out of the box, and go to previous track, or go to next track if I set it up in my music player app. I presume the nexus will be the same. I don't think the Android fork from Samsung for audio input is much different than pure Android on the nexus.

hello,i want to know if you have the Sennheiser hd558 right now.I want to buy in 29th.

I don't have them now anymore(returned), but I can say go for the 598s(heard they're much better) or momentums(currently using over ear bought bestbuy online for~$200 on sale) instead. The 558s were very underwhelming when I tested them. No better than my old original ps3 headphones which I got used for $60. However the 558 and definitely 598 will need an amp to sound good I believe. Which is why I went with the momentums(ivory I have a review), the resistance is so low you don't need anything, saving hundreds on a proper amp. I bet the 598s with a nice amp and dac if you need it would sound better than my momentums, but I wouldn't know first hand.

compares to...

Hi, i'm interested in this product, I've two questions.

Do I need a headphone amplifier for Ipod use?
Do you know if there are other products woth similar quialty to compare with?

Thanks so much
I believe so yes. In the least to hear anything worth while. I wouldn't recommend that dac/amp brand though. And if you're going to spend extra on an amp or dac, you might as well get the momentums which will work without any amp because of the low resistance, saving space in your pocket and wallet. You could still get a dac for any headphone if you're using an electronic music player with a subpar dac. However I think ipods have decent dacs, and my galaxy note 2 sounds just as great with my headphones as my expensive computer audio card. If you don't like the momentums the sennheisers 598 are much better choice on sound quality I've heard. You'd need an amp for those however as well.
