The first "See No Evil" had awful characterizations, bad lead performances, and a terribly predictable plot. But it also had some cool cinematography, great lighting, and Kane (the wrestler) made for a good slasher.
This new sequel, from the Soska sisters, is much better in every respect- the cast is very good here, the blood and gore is amped up, the score is excellent, and movie is just much more satisfying.
While it still is just mad killer on the loose, it is so in a much more engaging way.

This smart phone's touchscreen seems to get smudged easier than others, but it is a light phone, with good menu layout, good connectivity, and a decent amount of memory.

This 1995 anime is one of the titles that allowed anime to break into the mainstream in North America. And there is a reason for that!
Even 20 years on, the animation looks stunning. The character designs are sleek and very detailed. The plot can seem a bit too convoluted for its own good, but upon a rewatch or two, the way everything ties together will make more sense.
If you haven't seen this yet, this new bluray release is very much worth it. If you bought the previous 2.0 bluray, buy this one and trade in that awkward version. No dumb CGI insert shots here!

Lucy Hale, frontwoman for the band Halestorm, has a raw intensity to her voice that immediately captures the listener's attention and demands them to pay attention. Happily, the rest of the band members have the musical chops to pull it off, making this CD lots of fun.

Robert Hall is no stranger to horror- getting his start doing the special make-up effects for shows such as "Buffy The Vampire Slayer" and "Angel"; he still works in such a manner on the likes of "Grimm", and a whole slew of genre films.
He has also directed quite a few movies, including his own bio-pic "Lightning Bug" and the awesome Chromeskull franchise. And now he's back with "Fear Clinic", based on a web series.
Starring the amazing Finoia Dourif (great in "Curse Of Chucky", better here), Robert Englund as a mad scientist (bringing pathos and gravitas to what could have a thoroughly unlikable role), and Slipknot's Corey Taylor (surprisingly energetic and charismatic), the movie gets a lot of mileage out of its cast.
The plot is pretty good, even though the ending is rushed, and doesn't quite make sense. The gooey, gore stuff doesn't come into play for about the first half, which is surprising given Hall's background, but the character development is appreciated.

This BR double pack was less than five bucks, and totally worth it!
"Darkness" is a great looking, very well shot, atmospheric film with a terrible script. It never becomes scary or engaging, leaving talented actors/ actresses to try hard all for naught. The transfer though, is solid, so if you just want to see the movie for its visuals, this is worth it.
"Below" is creepy, crazy, and awesome. I am very excited to finally own this taut, claustrophobic thriller, with an interesting twist that I won't spoil here. The script comes from Darren Aronofsky, of "Black Swan" fame, and the director is David Twohy, the genius behind the "Riddick" franchise, so you know you are in for a treat here.

I use these blank DVD cases to replace ones that either broke or are very dirty/ have sticker residue/ etc. The cover art always fits nicely, and the discs are definitely secure.

Joon-ho's loose adaptation of the graphic novel is mesmerizing and beautiful. It explores deep and topical themes, but in a swift and exciting way. The action is tense and well shot. The acting from everyone is pitch perfect. This movie is astounding.
