The boys are back and they're bigger than ever in the gut-busting, all-new Holy Schnike Edition! Crack-up comedians Chris Farley and David Spade star as two ne'er-do-well traveling salesmen who hit the road in order to save the family business in this Inchinfectiously funnyInch (Gary Arnold, The Washington Times), larger-than-life movie.

Ferris Bueller (Matthew Broderick) is a tricky but harmless fast-talker. But he knows how to have fun, which is exactly what he sets out to do when he feigns illness and talks his parents into letting him stay home from school. The perpetually lucky Ferris enlists his hypochondriac best friend, Cameron Frye (Alan Ruck), into springing his girlfriend, Sloane Peterson (Mia Sara), from class, and the three embark on a raucous downtown Chicago adventure. From Wrigley Field to the Art Institute of Chicago to a Polish pride parade, Ferris and his friends make the most of their day off. But Ferris, Sloane, and Cameron might not get away with playing hooky. Ferris's sister, Jeanie (Jennifer Grey), is determined to prove that Ferris is faking sick and make him pay for it, and the bumbling school dean, Ed Rooney (Jeffrey Jones), is sure that Ferris is pulling a fast one. Another classic from writer-director John Hughes (SIXTEEN CANDLES, THE BREAKFAST CLUB), this film features a star turn from Broderick as the charismatic Ferris. Watch for Charlie Sheen as the juvenile delinquent in the police station and comedian Louie Anderson in a brief appearance as a flower deliveryman. Blu-ray

John Hughes fun loving scamp bounces onto Blu Ray with a good transfer, special features and that distinctive soundtrack. On paper Ferris sounds like the kid you love to hate in High School, but Broderick's star making turn as the guy who gets away with everything charms everyone buy his sister. It's so choice.

King Kongs blu debut is an older encode that still look marvelous. Included are a lot of special features, but keep in mind they are disproportionately Peter Jackson heavy, but still some great history. A franchise this significant should have a bigger, more professional package but for the price we can forgive the big hairy lug.

Gabba gabba's kid friendly live show dvd puts you there, includes a soundtrack cd and most of the very popular songs and characters from the show. My wife was sad to find zero new songs, and the special features are odd but short, but it keeps toddlers happy.

After a glut of releases on Dvd and Blu, Camerons first blockbuster finds its definitive edition, even if its sporting a "modern" color palette (even the case is red). Seriously though, the colors have been tweaked and the film barely looks 80s now. But with this good of a transfer (soo many details! So clear!) its hard to complain, but some will grumble.
