Do they sell Region Free DVD Players at BEST BUY, and if so are they compatible with all televisions?
Best buy can order oppo bluray players which are region free players just be prepared to spend at least $600.

my tv has no HDMI connection althiugh it it is 1080 dpi. looking for a bluray player that has the blue, green and red connectors. Larry

Do I need an AV Amplifier to play the audio from BluRay disks?
I just purchased a Sony BDP-S1100 Blu-Ray Disc Player. The instruction manual seems to imply that the audio comes from the Digital Out port only, and not from the HDMI port. It implies that I need an AV Amplifier if I want to listen to the sound. Is that true?
Not needed hdmi does it all.
