Season 2 catches up with former FBI agent Ryan Hardy (Kevin Bacon) in the aftermath of his showdown with escaped serial killer Joe Carroll (James Purefoy). As the lone survivor of a new killing spree, Lily Gray (Connie Nielsen) is called in to help Ryan and Mike Weston (Shawn Ashmore) solve the case, but Ryan's reluctance to re-join the FBI finds him working alongside his niece Max Hardy (Jessica Stroup) behind closed doors. As Ryan crosses paths with some complicated people, he believes that Joe is nowhere near finished wreaking havoc.
