Gravity is definitely one of the best pictures of 2013. Alfonso Cuaron and crew have created a visual masterpiece that nearly makes you believe it was actually filmed in space. Sandra Bullock is terrific, and George Clooney is George Clooney. Not as awe-inspiring to watch in the living room as it was in 3D on the big screen, but the Blu-Ray is still impressive.

Frozen is a movie that kids will want to watch over and over, and adults probably won't mind at all. The tale of two sisters is very well told, and the songs are quite catchy. And, it looks and sounds great on Blu-Ray.

Giant robots vs. giant monsters

They say not to judge a book by its cover, but Pacific Rim delivers exactly what it promises - giant, human-controlled robots facing off with giant monsters from the deep. The plot is straightforward, the characters are rather one-dimensional, but the CGI is excellent and the movie is highly entertaining to watch.
