"Blair Witch Project" can be a very divisive film; my opinion will not likely sway readers one way or another. My problem with this release is the fact that the studio could not be bothered to do anything more than upscale the original DVD and not offer any significant extras. To be fair, the alternate endings are included, but where is the famous "Sundance Cut" of the film? This is only worthwhile if you enjoyed the film and do not own the previous DVD. Otherwise, this can be summed up as a missed opportunity.

I give this SPECIFIC RELEASE 3 stars. The cover art is really the only difference between this version of "Aliens" and the previous release. A digital download IS included, but this isn't a new edition of the film beyond that. Don't purchase this thinking you are buying something new; contents are exactly the same as the previous release. If you don't own this film already, this version will certainly satisfy. Picture quality is the best I've ever seen, and I do own this film in all it's previous versions and formats. Sound also.
In the new season, we see Rick and the group of survivors fostering a thriving community in the safe haven of the prison only to have it short-lived as the group loses everything, their home, family, and friends to the threat of the walkers, outside threats and the hidden dangers brewing inside the fences. The group of survivors are broken apart and sent on divergent paths, unsure of everyone else's fate as they are exposed to new dangers, new enemies, and heartbreaking choices. They will have their faith thoroughly tested - a faith that breaks some of them and redeems others.

Season 4 can be divisive, but I give it my highest rating because the characters are given more time to develop. The theme of faith in something greater is explored as Rick's group is dealt some of the harshest blows yet. The mid-season finale is one of the show's best, and be warned: it is truly heartbreaking. I would urge people put off by complaints about season four's pace to give it a try; the show reaches new depths of emotion here. Excellent picture and sound quality. A+.

"Prometheus" will not likely satisfy certain fans looking for something that continues the approach taken for the original "Alien", and the film certainly has flaws in both plot and character development. However, it does open the series of "Alien" films in an intriguing way... and Scott's eye for beautiful visuals can't be denied. The Blu-ray has a nice selection of extras and the picture and sound quality are top-notch. Recommended if you enjoyed the film in it's theatrical run.
`The truth is out there,' and FBI agents Scully and Mulder seek it in this sci-fi phenomenon about their quest to explain the seemingly unexplainable. Their strange cases include UFO sightings, alien abductions and just about anything else paranormal. This release collects every episode from the debut season of The X-Files.

X-FILES is finally available on Blu-Ray, and it looks fantastic. The digital clean-up is impressive, the sound is great. One does wish for more extras, but this is a must for X-Philes. Well worth the wait.

This edition sports top rate picture and sound, but hardcore fans would be better served by the 3-disc edition. More extras, including the "Days Gone By" episode presented in black and white. Still, this edition makes a nice primer for new viewers.

Yes, "Evil Dead" has been issued several times on DVD, but this Blu-ray sports an astonishing transfer that makes this edition essential. So good, in fact, that it makes the film's no-budget FX stand out in ways that must make Sam Raimi squirm with embarrassment. The only complaint? The original short film that served as the basis for "Evil Dead" is STILL MIA.
