Sam Neill and Julian Dennison strike up a great father/grump uncle and foster kid on the run relationship. The setting is beautifully shot and the dry British/New Zealand-esqe humor always seems to land. The filming feels similar to a Wes Anderson or Edgar Wright type movie...which is mere perfection for me.
SING STREET takes us back to 1980s Dublin seen through the eyes of a 14-year-old boy named Conor (Ferdia Walsh-Peelo) who is looking for a break from a home while trying to adjust to his new inner-city school. He finds a glimmer of hope in the beautiful Raphina (Lucy Boynton), and with the aim of winning her heart he invites her to star in his band's music videos. There's only one problem: he's not part of a band...yet. Inspired by writer/director John Carney's (ONCE, BEGIN AGAIN) life and love for music, SING STREET shows us a world where music has the power to take us away from everyday life and transform us.

With perfectly paired original music the audience is taken on a wild and fun ride through a young group of kids growing up along with the music they love. Great casting and a great setting to match.

It was really cool to see the old favorites come back as there younger selves, but ultimately this will fall short from Days of Future Past because of the leapfrogging they do with Magneto...good bad other...and hiding Oscar Issacs behind all that makeup. Still a good movie overall, but oh what could have been.
Five-year-old Jack (Jacob Tremblay) grew up with the full and loving attention of his doting young mom Joy (Brie Larson). However, he~s never spent a moment outside the windowless, 11-by-11 enclosure where they live. As he begins to ask more questions-and the horrifying truth of their circumstances becomes apparent-mother and son face a harrowing bid for escape and an even more challenging acclimation to the world. Lenny Abrahamson~s remarkable drama also stars Joan Allen, William H. Macy, Sean Bridgers; Emma Donoghue adapted her novel for the screen. 118 min.

One of the best films to come out in 2015 with breath taking performances from the two leads...Brie Larson is a force to be reckoned with. This definitely brought me to tears in the theater on multiple occasions.

The story itself is only so so, but the on screen chemistry that Gosling and Crowe have together is what makes this work. The play their parts perfectly and are absolutely hilarious/awesome throughout.

This is definitely not your typical love story. Yet with its dry humor, confusing/quirky situations it does a great deal to paint the picture of society obsessed with making everyone fit into one cookie cutter template for life. Colin Farrell and Rachel Weisz shine throughout and definitely will leave you with a film you won't soon forget.

The movie that started it all for the animation juggernaut that is Pixar. Absolutely fantastic voice cast with Tom Hanks and Tim Allen leading the way. The animation is beautiful and it really tells a sweet story about growing up and getting along.

Aside from seeing some of my favorite comic book characters on screen together this film was an utter disaster. From the ridiculous slow motion scenes that Zack Snyder loves so much to the over crowding of characters and complete waste of a good villain this film is a mess from start to finish. Wonder Woman was the only shining moment as she absolutely kicked a** in every scene she was in...looking forward to her solo effort.
