A Good Time Even if a Bit of a Cop Out

The first half of the movie has a great momentum, with a mountain of a dilemma for our characters to overcome. This fallout is worse than the other 3 or 4 times our beloved Marvel heroes haven't gotten along. Although thankfully there are underdeveloped secondary villains to prevent any true resolution to be determined. However the set pieces are a freaking and welcoming diversion from this. Some of the most interesting action scenes and character moments thus far.
While Marvel has played it safely with their story structure, they have mastered tackling large scale action. That and what's next in their canon keeps bringing us back time and again.
Despite these criticisms, the movie is a good time. And it displays a strong grasp of the characters as well as finally bringing them closer to the ideology that the comics have allowed to gestate for decades.

It's easier to be called a hater for not liking something popular, but this reboot offers a similar problem many larger budget films suffer from these days; a lack of heart.
It feels like an exercise in nostalgia, a study in the formula of what made the original so well-received.
Albeit the general story plays out like an episode of Scooby-Doo and less like a Ghostbusters story.
Better luck next time, Sony.

If It's Your First Time at FIGHT Club...

There is no difference between this title and the one you can pick up for much cheaper except the Steelbook case. This is a movie I have double dipped on several times, including this version. So I would recommend it to someone buying it for the first time on Bluray, or to the rabid Steelbook collector, but not to anyone who's simply interested in a different edition of the film.

Honestly am not a huge fan of the film itself but I'm here to review the quality of the product itself. The quality of the Bluray is outstanding. The picture is sharp, colorful, and vibrant. The sound is much better than any version I've heard before. It still sounds like it was pulled from a mono track, but the mix sounds fuller. There are a handful of special features which any fan will appreciate and dig into. If this film is your fancy, then indulge.

Zack Connors and Rachel Meadows were born with incredible psychokinetic capabilities. When word of their supernatural talents gets out, they find themselves the prisoners of Michael Slovak, a deranged doctor intent on harvesting their powers. After a daring escape, they are free from his sinister institution, but the corrupt doctor will stop at nothing to track them down so that he may continue to siphon their gifts for his own use.

Telekinetic Terror

I saw this at a film festival in 2015 and it really rocked me. This is a perfect midnight movie; all out insanity.
The story is lean and the characters are briskly walked through it, but this isn't supposed to be a drama, it's a war film. Like if Scanners had met First Blood.
The score from Steve Moore is absolutely incredible, and I expect even more insanity from director Joe Begos down the road.
