The second season of Daredevil really kicked things into high gear with the addition of the Punisher. That storyline was highly engaging, and I look forward to seeing his own series soon. The parts of the season that focused on Electra were also enjoyable, but seemed to drag a bit for me.

A confusing mess

The Transformers franchise started off really well, telling the story of a boy and his car. It quickly derailed and has since become a jumbled mess of explosions. I was completely lost when watching this movie, as there don't seem to be many full scenes in it - just a bunch of random snippets from what feel like 30 different stories all trying to be told at once. As a fan of the franchise, I'd love to see it continue, but with better storytellers at the helm.

A return to form

After a somewhat lackluster 4th outing, the Pirates franchise rights the ship with Dead Men Tell No Tales. It feels more like what made the franchise enjoyable in the first place. The only real complaint I have is that Disney didn't release the 3D version on home video in the US, but it's a minor nit to pick. If this is truly the end of the series, it's a fitting way to go.
