Performed horribly for me

I installed it on wIndows 7 Premium and it constantly had problems with the Software - It was difficult to set up as a dedicated IP. I had an IT professional try installing it a few times and I had similar problems that others did on the web. This product (WD Mirror) was released too soon before they rung out the bugs. It's a great concept but I switched to a buffalo 420 series with much better success.

can this device be backed up to a cloud backup service?
I like the local fail safe feature but can this device also be backed up to a service like carbonite?
No... Carbonite will only back up an external USB drive at the basic package costs.
