Visually stylish but incredibly predictable mockery of the legends. Monty Python and the Holy Grail is a much better comedy version of King Arthur, and Excalibur is a much better serious version. Style outweighs content in this version.

Underrated Comedy

Everybody compares this to The Truman Show which came out about the same time. They are completely different. The Truman Show is a serious movie about somebody who is unaware he has been on a reality TV show since birth. This is a comedy about an adult who is well aware that he is on reality TV. Both movies are great in their own genre. As a comedy, this is extremely funny and did not deserve the negativity it received upon release for being inferior to The Truman Show. Comparing the two is like comparing apples and oranges.
