Solid accessory, cord a little short

Had to research online how to get this mic going in the game as it wasn't intuitive (thought it would be as easy as "plug and play"), but works just fine once in use. Given that it's not wireless, the cord is a bit short, requiring the singer to be pretty close to the tv set, which isn't exactly optimal when you're trying to play with a group of people in front of a big screen, so minus a star for that.

Nice new twist to the genre

Two ways of playing: offline in a first person point of view with a "live" action band in front of a "live" crowd that reacts to your good and/or bad play, or playing along online to a streaming music video (no Playstation Plus account needed). Have tried both modes multiple times, both solo and co-op. Setup from one mode to another is not 100% intuitive but once you've got it down, definitely a fun ride. A refreshing spin on things, they were definitely thinking outside the box on this to make it feel a bit newer, unlike the competition which actually regressed on their latest iteration while launching on the next-gen platform, removing advances in gameplay they had made on their last entry. Although there is a lot of selection here, it's missing a lot of the bigger guitar bands of yesteryear, so it loses a star for that.

Very nice update to the series

Beyond having the biggest roster for a wrestling game to date, a lot of match types have returned, as well as customization options. It's too bad that even with all the wrestlers included, that certain wrestlers are left off; wish it was set up like song purchases were in Rockband, where song purchases ported over from one game to the next. Having said that, this is a very solid entry in the series with plenty of replay value; easily a game to pull out at a party.

Unexpectedly fantastic movie!

Admittedly went in with low expectations on this film, but it hit it out of the park in so many ways, both visually and story-telling wise. There simply isn't any other film to compare it to, except as a souped-up version of previous installments. A bit of a throwback, too, where the hero doesn't necessarily have many lines in the movie, and that is saying something considering the caliber of actor in the main role.

Solid set, but nothing earth-shattering

Tate's dismissal from Queensryche has had enough written about it. One argument was that he no longer favored the hard rock / metal genre that QR came to be known for, but he definitely explores that territory here. So long as he doesn't revert to the caberet shows (!) he forced his former QR bandmates to endure, this may prove to have some legs for him. This is supposed to be the first entry into a trilogy, but we'll see how well that follows through. The album by itself is no worse than recent QR offerings, but there's really no promotion behind this so it's a matter of the record being heard. This isn't a band in and of itself, more Tate working with guest musicians, but adopting a band name for the project so he could in theory reel in the QR fans. If you're a QR/Tate completist, you'll want this record, but if you're a casual listener, then go back and discover/explore the early QR records.

Fantastic series, good BR set

I was skeptical about this series at first, but the show provides a very gritty representation of Gotham during Bruce's younger days. The focus is primarily on Gordon, but many well known characters make their pre-(in)famous appearances throughout the season. Some may say that several of the villains are "debuting" too soon, that they would be too old to be Bruce's adversaries by the time he's old enough to don the suit, but I think they're striking a good balance there, too, with maybe one mistep being on how old Harvey Dent is (traditionally, he's supposed to be a friend of Bruce's and about his age).

My son used to need me to co-op with him on these Lego games, but he's reached the point where he can handle them on his own. I can't tell you how many times he's come to tell me that he's unlocked such and such character or level, etc. Visually, the graphics are what you've come to expect, and from what I can tell, there is a fully realized Jurassic World park that you can roam around. To be honest, I am probably going to sit down with him at some point and play a couple of levels, at least to relive some of the old films!
