I needed to get some extra storage so bought this 5TB drive for my videos photos etc. I also installed the Seagate Dashboard and then some very strange things started to happen with my IMAC; several applications paused and I got error messages saying I was out of memory! When I ran activity monitor, Dashboard was consuming all of my ram and i could not figure why, so I uninstalled it and everything was fine after that. Not sure if this was just a rogue issue or there is something amiss with the latest Dashboard s/w running on Yosemite- I can live without it so will not bother re-installing.
