After the death of his father King George V and the scandalous abdication of King Edward VIII, Bertie who has suffered from a debilitating speech impediment all his life, is suddenly crowned King George VI of England. With his country on the brink of war and in desperate need of a leader, his wife, Elizabeth, the future Queen Mother, arranges for her husband to see an eccentric speech therapist, Lionel Logue. After a rough start, the two delve into an unorthodox course of treatment and eventually form an unbreakable bond. With the support of Logue, his family, his government and Winston Churchill, the King will overcome his stammer and deliver a radio-address that inspires his people and unites them in battle.

Great Film!

This film, which does play fast and loose with historical fact, is nonetheless and entertaining film about the father of one of the Twentieth Century's most famous and influential people. Not only a touching portrait of a man in an extreme situation, but also of a loving family man, and his wife is given a memorable turn by Helena Bonham Carter, and Geoffrey Rush turns in yet another memorable performance. Definite must see!

The House of Batiatus is on the rise, basking in the glow of it's infamous champion Gannicus, whose skill with a sword is matched only by his thirst for wine and women. These are the times a young Batiatus has been waiting for. Poised to overthrow his father and take control; hell freely betray anyone to ensure his gladiators are in the highest demand. And hell have his loyal and calculating wife Lucretia by his side for every underhanded scheme, drawing on the brazen talents of her seductive friend Gaia when it counts. Together, they will stop at nothing to deceive the masses, seize power, and bleed Capua dry in this audacious prequel to SPARTACUS BLOOD AND SAND.

Don't Miss It!

As a six episode prequel, I debated whether to buy this or not, but I'm glad I did. While Spartacus himself is absent, it still features some great drama, and the usual violence and nudity the series is known for. John Hannah, one of the best things about the first season, is given more opportunity to scheme and plot with his wife played by Lucy Lawless, as well as the backstories to characters who will later play a big role, this is definitely a not-miss.

The Original Classic

While far from perfect, and none of the X-men films have reached the potential they deserve, this is one of the better entries, with a great cast and Bryan Singer calling the shots behind the camera. Definitely a must for comic fans.

The weakest X-Men film, but Not Bad By Any Means

I bought this to complete my X-Men collection, even though I head terrible things about it. While it is the weakest entry, it's not the unwatchable mess I was expecting, and does give information that will become important in later films. Not a fan of X-Men films? Skip it. Are a fan and want the whole set? Get it.

The epic struggle that began in Spartacus: Blood and Sand continues as the gladiator rebellion spreads chaos through the Roman Republic, and Spartacus (Liam McIntyre) is forced to choose between avenging his wife's death and maintaining the army that could topple his oppressors in this release featuring the entire thrilling mini-series Spartacus: Vengeance.

Now It's War!

Like the previous two seasons, this is a show designed to be a guilty pleasure from start to finish. Just about every scene has nudity (both male and female), extreme violence, or some sort of extreme plot thread that would make the soaps proud. Despite all that, it tells a good story, and this season is no exception, with the war against Rome finally underway.,

An Underrated Classic

The film that made autism take center stage, it won several big Oscars - Actor, Screenplay, Director, and Picture, but has largely faded over the years. This is a good chance to see why this is still held as an example of how to write a screenplay today, and a journey well worth taking again or for the first time.

This release from the landmark historical drama series Rome includes all 10 episodes of the show's second season, following the jockeying and backstabbing that occupies the cutthroat world of politics for the most powerful empire in the world in the year 44 B.C.

Rome Comes to Life - Again!

The show runners were given notice that this would be the last season, though they had planned on at least 4, so they compressed three seasons (36 episodes) worth of material into ten episodes. Not a good situation to be in, and if things seem rushed, at least it's better than something like Deadwood, which just ends, leaving all plot threads dangling. The wonderful attention to detail remains, especially on Blu Ray, where all the details shine.

See TITANIC as you have never seen it before, digitally re-mastered and overseen by Academy Award-winning director James Cameron and producer Jon Landau. Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet shine in the timeless love story born of tragedy that created an international phenomenon as memorable as the legendary ship of dreams. Winner of 11 Academy Awards, including Best Picture, this epic masterpiece is destined to sweep audiences anew into the journey of a lifetime. Titanic was originally released in 1997.

The Best Version of a Landmark Film!
on October 10, 2014

I've been a huge fan of this film since it's release in 1997. I've seen it 8 times in theaters, watch every Titanic documentary that comes across on History Channel and other such outlets, have owned the film on VHS, DVD, DVD Deluxe, and now this one.
This is epic in the classic sense. While the screenplay is terrible, the acting, costumes, sets, directing, and sound all prove that, indeed, it is possible to make a good film from a bad script. The visuals are exceptional - you'll notice the individual people in some of the wide shots - particularly after the sinking, rather than anonymous blobs they were before, and a lot of tiny details in the clothing and set design that show off the painstaking detail. The lossless soundtrack brings this thing to life, and the 3-D brings depth and scale that 2-D can never hope to reach. Top it off with an entire disc full of special features (including one hour of FULLY PRODUCED deleted scenes. That's right; music, full sound effects, clarity as good as the regular film, and none of those weird numbers at the top of the screen). Most of these are rightfully cut, but there's a brief scene showing the unfortunate end of Cora (the girl Jack dances with at the below-decks party) and her parents, the make the tragedy hit harder (too hard? Cameron thinks so) than ever before, and an alternate ending (along with greater Brock Lovett character development in earlier scenes) the one which involves Rose dropping the Heart of the Ocean overboard, is still flawed, but, in my opinion, better than the original, and you get to see Brock react to seeing her do it.
Finally, there's a documentary that goes through everything - from Cameron getting the idea to pre-production, production, release, cultural phenomenon, the Oscar triumph, backlash, and ends with the 3-D conversion to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the sinking. Conclusion: a must have for fans, a should have for everyone else.

Before Amazing Spider-Man there was this

This is Spider-Man on Blu Ray. With the new series being all the rage, this older version is, I believe, superior. It gets the origin story done faster and gets down to business. The villain is rather weak, but why waste a top-notch villain when the origin story will take up so much of the time (Doctor Octopus is the next villain, in the second, and best, installment)? Spider-Man himself lacks the wit of the comics and new series, but Tobey Maguire is good in the role, even if his vacant stares and relationship with brain-dead M.J. lack the crackle and pop of Garfield and Stone. I'd say overall a good flick.
