Although I ran into some minor installation problems, a quick call put me in touch with a professional technician who was thorough and friendly. Installation problem solved. With the new "RING" doorbell-Camera installed, I feel much safer answering the front door. No more guessing who is out there. Ring doorbell system is perfect.

For my first detector, it was very easy to get up and running. Needed to do my homework and do the reading for signal interpretation, but other than that. right our of the box it was up and running in less than a minute.
Great choice of a road detector. I couldn't has asked for anything better. The Passport 8500 X50 Red has it all.

What's great about it: Easy to move around, adjust, and stow out of sight when parked .
What's not so great: Looks like an add-on. Just doesn't fit the decor of my jaguar S-Type. ha ha ha

What's the best height to get the best view ? Can it be tilled up ?
Mine is installed where my old doorbell button was installed and it is about hip high. That's about 3 feet off the ground. With the wide angle lens, I have no problem seeing my entire front door area including the person's face. Obviously, they must be standing at least 2 feet away from the doorbell button. The closer the person is to the button, the more they block out the picture. Standing at arm's length is just about right.
