I owned an older Garmin and it worked well. The one issue was updating it. It required connecting the GPS to a computer, logging in to the Garmin website and downloading a large file into your computer so that it could be then transferred into your GPS. If it did not work well the first time, repeat until it does work.
This device has wifi, which I plugged into an AC outlet, selected update and then I checked on it a few hours later...and the GPS was updated. The wifi was the main reason I bought this unit and it works as advertised.

While many routers can be set up to disable wifi devices and even schedule time on/off the internet, this is easy to use and very family friendly.
You can set up profiles for family members and limit online access as needed. When my wife and I say it's bedtime, if the kids are still watching Netflix a minute later, a simple button press disables that device.
On one occasion we were at the store and our teenager called with a bit of an attitude. A button press later her tablet had no internet (this is the short version of the story).
Overall, solid product. I have the Circle plugged into the router instead of via wifi, as some users have experienced some slowdown.
