This is an excellent upgrade to OEM unit, even at 5400rpm, like others like it at 7200rpm but understand heat dissipation and large 1TB capacity offset. Speeds up startup over time and accessing multiple programs. There was mention of cloning problems so ensure that software works with OS version on present drive. Do not reformat the new Hybrid drive before cloning, nor run defrag. Drive works well and larger capacity will save money long term. Bought a second unit and installed it in desktop and works great for multiple monitor setup. Get unit while on sale. Note: if during clone setup or as a backup and experience a problem return to store for replacement under warranty. Troubleshooting often removes the base format condition from the factory, thus drive never the same over time.

case is highly flexible when it comes to placing in and then retrieving the hard drive. Even will take the bracket for the drive as well. SATA cable will fit, of to the side, with some effort or placed on top of drive. Wished the manufacturer put a card slot on outside to mark content of drive, but you can achieve same by using a label maker device for this effort.

Great value in having increased storage capacity on new hard drive. Minor drawback only 4500rpm(7200rpm desired) but it works fine. Also, can be used in desktop if desired. Runs cools and easy access to OS.

Trusted brand name, plus good quality construction and capacity made for an ideal product to suit my needs. Granted the usb 3.0 series be faster but price has not come down nor is every unit have a usb 3.0 port(legacy) capacity to warrant purchase. Price was right for sure. Also, purchases the protection case for longevity and safety considerations. ps: now that the cloud is an acceptable storage but what happens if there is no internet available and item needed right now.

Is there any way to keep the clock display ? The user manual says it depends on the model.
by having the clock display doing its power saver operation is a great enhancement. there is an insert explaining the Automatic Standby Mode for Display is factory set at 5 minutes to turn off with no activity. You can touch any button to exit standby mode and REACTIVATE DISLAY.

yes it will work fine or you could also clone your in use OS drive with the proper software. yes, its legal. thus you will have a backup while you use the new drive or revamp the properties tree for certain programs to be stored on the new drive/

sometimes the third party battery could be available in store or on line. best to check the manufacturer web site for your particular model and learn if current or they offer an avenue to acquire a replacement compatible unit
