Our old dryer 'died'. When shopping for a new one we ran into a little 'sticker shock'. It's been a long time since we shopped washer/dryers and our Samsung washer was working just fine. My wife needed something bigger than a Kindle to look at Pinterest , and her iPhone to check email. And we wanted windows 10. She also wanted to go online without having to contend with a large, heavy or pricey computer. The screen size, weight and price of this one was great.
We did not anticipate that she would want more of what was on our old desk top loaded on this computer etc. Needless to say she ran out of storage in no time. Lesson learned. Get MORE STORAGE! Good computer.

Does the dryer require a water hookup extra for the steam?
When installed you will have a "Y" connector placed on the cold water outlet. Then one hose is connected to the washer and the other is connected to the dryer.

When you first receive your washer and dryer set, do you need to do anything to it first before use (run it on a cycle or anything)?
The installers ran water into the washer etc. then ran the spin mode to make sure it was functioning properly. If you install yourself, follow the instructions in the manual.
