I saw the trailer for this several months ago and did't give it a second thought. I thought it would be similar to the plethora of sloppy drivel out there that is made for young audiences but it was a shock after I rented it that it was a film that was funny, relatable and believable. I thought the cast was fantastic. The story was not sappy or predictable but made you think of how you felt when you were the age of the protagonist. Just a great solid film with awesome stand out performances by the core cast.

When I heard about this film and who was directing it I thought it would be much like the rest of his films. I am happy to say it was surprising well done and showed that this director (Bay) can handle the intense gunfights as well as the tension building scenes necessary to maintain the mood of the film. It was like a fresh look at the career or a director known for making fluff. It also showed the John Krasinski was more than that lovable guy from "The Office". 13 Hours isn't breaking new ground in cinema or writing but it was enjoyable and worth watching over and over.
