I've had this unit for about a month. I can at least play 4K streaming to the display. It hasn't done anything wrong with the picture at least. It's labeled for a unit made in 2015. The latest units were from 2016. Whether that makes a difference I don't know. It is nice to have one cable to the display and all the rest go into evo kit. The way I look at is the evo kit replaces the displays version of said electronics. My display is a samsung UN65HU8550 FXZA nov 2014 BD player is Oppo BDP 95

According to the manual that came with this unit(2015 model) it says : compatible models : models released in 2013: S9, F9000 series models. Models released in 2014: HU 6900 or higher models. This unit does not play discs of any kind. Basically it upgrades the electronics built into those models listed. It changes the HDMI from 1.4 to 2.0, that will allow the set to except the new signals. I hope this helps. Samsung is very vague this unit in it's website.

Connect One Box and wall mounted TV
Is/can the One connect box be attached directly to the outside of the TV, or is it a separate piece? I've just had a TV wall mount area built in the house, with the HDMI and RJ45 cables running behind the wall to an entertainment center. Does this make the use of a new Samsung 4K TV obsolete?
Separate box. Don't know if it's wall mountable. It suppose to be adaptable for anything new. If you have a 4K screen you won't have to replace it as far I understand it.
