In this very self aware sequel to the hilarious 21 Jump Street, Tatum and Hill are even funnier and the script is smart and great parody of sequels in general.

It's great to finally get a retrospective documentary on the life of Randy Savage, but it's a little lacking just because it was done after his death and we don't get to hear from Savahe himself, other than older interviews. Great pick for any fan of this iconic wrestlers career!

An absolute blast from beginning to end! This is a redemption for the X-Men franchise. Showing that you truly can fix things, even after severe damage has been done to it (X-Men 3 and the first Wolverine film). In a bold attempt to bring together what seemed like two separate franchises, DOFP brings two timelines together seamlessly. The writers do a great JOB balancing, and making sense of he time travel, which is a very hard thing to do. I also love how they coincide with, and effect real world occurrences, much like First Class did with the Bay of Pigs. We get another situation in this with a mutant involved in one of the biggest events in out culture's history. There are some incredible performances that are at the root of this film. Hugh Jackman, as usual, excels as Wolverine in his seventh try at the hero. Jennifer Lawrence is used much more that she was in First Class and plays her very pivotal role with a great vulnerability and strength as she is torn between two worlds. Evan Peters as Quicksilver was the biggest surprise of the cast. After the initial pictures of him leaked, I was very worried because he looked like an idiot and his costume design was laughable. After seeing him in action, I can say how totally wrong I was! He is involved in a scene that has the best use of SLOWmotion I've ever seen in a movie! The true star, for me is the incredible Michael Fassbender as Magneto. I can't believe I can say this with confidence, but, Fassbender's Magneto has surpassed Ian McKellen's take on the character. He shows such a great range, and his conflict with Xavier is exploited beautifully this time around. The quality action scenes had me wanting to jump out of my seat from excitement at times. There were several goosebump inducing moments that had me in awe of the scope and magnitude of the film. Bryan Singer has slid back into the role of director as if he never left and he has washed away the bad taste that previous X-Men INSTALLMENTS had left in fans mouths. This is a new beginning for the franchise and I can't wait to go for the next ride that they take us on. If they can keep up the momentum, I can see this franchise being just as successful and even on par with the quality of the Avengers universe!
A drifter named Malvo (Billy Bob Thornton) brings trouble to small-town Minnesota and influences insurance salesman Lester Nygaard (Martin Freeman) into murder. Meanwhile, a pair of local police officers are trying to piece together a series of murders which they believe is connected to Malvo and Nygaard.

This show somehow manages to carve out its own path while still playing in the realm of the Coen Brothers original film. Great story and great performances!

In the vein of Ghostbusters, Men in Black set up a great premise on a sci fi foundation that makes the most out its great lead actors. This one is just great, popcorn move spectacle, and it still holds up!

A huge step forward for the Marvel Universe! As much as I loved the original Captain America film, this one is even better. Chris Evan personifies this character so perfectly that I could not imagine any other actor up to the task of playing our noble Cap. I kept hearing about how this film is inspired by 70s era espionage thrillers and I can tell you it fits right in that genre with the best of them, only it adds a superhero, big budget feel to it. I don't believe it's a coincidence that Robert Redford, who starred in many of the films that this one pulls from, is placed in a very prominent role as Nic Fury's boss, Alexander Pierce. The action scenes are second to none in this. It was full of those stand up and cheer moments as the film held the audience in the palm of its hand. I can't go to far into anything without spoilers, so I will just say this sets up a very interesting road that will lead into Avengers 2. We get to know Black Widow better this time around and Scarlett Johansson has gotten very comfortable in the role of the deadly assassin. I love the way they bring the Winter Soldier into the mix. Whenever he shows up in the film, he's like a Terminator, tearing through everything in his path and making it a bad day for anyone on the side of good. His character arc, while a bit predictable, is very entertaining and give Captain America a great obstacle to overcome. It doesn't look like the well is running dry for Marvel anytime soon. They keep going deeper with this cinematic universe experiment that has paid off in spades. If you've enjoyed the ride they have taken you on thus far with all our heroes, you will undoubtedly have a ball with Captain America: The Winter Soldier!

I came into this with the gloves laced up, ready to annihilate this remake of a movie that I have loved dearly since I was a child. I came out respecting the effort put into this and actually hoping for a second installment in the future. This is by no means a great film. It lacks the biting, satire and audacity the original brought to the table. It does bring some new ideas to the table that were never really fleshed out in the original films. The first one being how did all of this effect his wife and son? We are given much more material devoted on the impact that this transformation has on his family and the implications of that. Second, the filmmakers weigh in on the ethics of bringing a human back to life as a machine. While these two topics are barely dabbled upon in Paul Verhoven's classic, this gives them quite a bit of time to be fleshed out. The PG-13 rating is a factor here and it draws attention to the fact that many things are toned down to make this a more lucrative, "vanilla" action film. I was heavily disappointed when I found out that Murphy's iconic gun is basically a stun gun in this film. Also, the city doesn't feel run down or overrun with crime. There are a few mentions about crime rates, but we are never allowed to see how the city has devolved into a distopian, gritty, violent place like it was in the original. I really enjoyed the performances, especially from Gary Oldman and Michael Keaton. Their presence adds a lot to the film and I'm glad they are given meaty, important roles. While Joel Kinnaman does fine as Robocop, I feel like any capable actor could have been placed in his shoes and the difference would be minimal. My hat goes off to Jose Padilha and crew for paying respect to the past, while trying to bring a new slant to the classic story. They injected very relevant themes about the media and corporations, much like in the 1987 film, and they brought them into the new millennium. While this leans a bit more on the "been there, done that" side of things, this is a solid action film that dives a bit deeper into ideas that made this character and this universe so memorable and ingrained them into pop culture history.

Sadly, this was the final season for the show and to try to garner some interest, the writers drastically changed the show to try and save the show. The college atmostphre isn't as satisfying as the high school years were and the change to the theme song is quite painful. But at its core, it still has very good storytelling and an amazing lead in Kristen Bell. Thankfuly we were given a feature film to end the series on a high note because there were many loose ends not tended to at the end of this season.

The second season of Veronica Mars follows the titular character (Kristen Bell), a 17-year-old amateur sleuth, as she investigates a mystery in the aftermath of a local tragedy. Elsewhere, Logan and Duncan squabble, and Veronica's personal life grows more complicated than ever.

The second season of this show is just as strong as the first. It does a great job with the characters and their intertwining relationships. They highlight for me is Veronica's relationship with her father. They havean amazing chemistry and it's one of my favorite points of the show!

I can't believe it took me so long to discover the gem of a show! This is such a clever, well written and immersive show! My wife and I sped through the first season in a week and we both love it. It has a great mix of mystery and teenage drama.
