Great TV, Terrible and Very Strong Smell

I have avocations which involve electronics and sometimes I will fix my receivers, guitar amplifiers, etc. which involves soldering.
I have just bought two different Insignia model TVs and both have a burning/hot circuit board smell. Smells like the old bakelite from the 1950s (a phenol odor). We have a large house. But the smell is upstairs, downstairs. I aired the whole house out all day yesterday... no improvement. Very strong.
Thinking I will have to return this. My wife returns from a business trip today and will wonder why the house is smelled up. She'll probably think something is burning somewhere.
