Nolan's gorgeous period-drama about two rival magicians makes a wonderful addition to the UHD home format. Like all of the Nolan 4K releases, this new transfer was created using the films original camera negative and supervised by Nolan and his director of photography. The film is complex with rich characters and a chilling climax. While not very successful upon its initial theatrical release, the film is beloved by all who stumble upon it now. The new 4K transfer looks beautiful and while some will complain about the lack of a new Atmos audio track, this decision was left to Nolan and I respect his choice to reuse the original 5.1 lossless from the bluray release.
