Sound City: Reel to Reel is a passion project, for sure. This is not for everyone, but definitely for those of us who were brought up on rock and for those that enjoy real music. I wouldn't expect that most kids today would have the patience to sit and learn something about an art form that has pretty much died, but if they truly love music, they would enjoy it. So it may only be for people with a little more seasoned musical taste. The story of the studio and the Neve board and all the great music that was produced there is cool in itself, but then add Dave's passion, love really, for the place and the board in particular, bringing that who's who list of musicians in to create and record music... Amazing. I bought the record (that's right vinyl record) first, but the movie has only re-emphasized how good it is.
