From executive producer Tom Hanks, the HBO miniseries Band of Brothers tells the story of a collection of soldiers from the 506th Regiment of the 101st Airborne Division of the United States Armed Forces, also known as "Easy Company", during World War II. The ten-episode story spans from 1942 during the group's training to the conclusion of fighting in Europe, and focuses on the experiences and tribulations of the individuals fighting for the Stars and Stripes in addition to important events such as D-Day and the liberation of Holocaust survivors. The series features stars including Damian Lewis (Homeland), Ron Livingston (Office Space), Donnie Wahlberg and Michael Fassbender.

A pair of action-packed chapters of the X-Men saga are included in this two-film set. X-Men First Class (2011), set in 1962, finds mutants Professor X (James McAvoy) and Magneto (Michael Fassbender) fighting alongside comrades such as Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence), Banshee (Caleb Landry Jones) and Beast (Nicholas Hoult), in attempt to prevent the nefarious Sebastian Shaw (Kevin Bacon) from commencing a devastating worldwide conflict. In the sequel, X-Men: Days of Future Past, the growing rift between Magneto and Professor X expands, as the world discovers the existence of mutants and the X-Men continue their quest for peace between humans and mutants by preventing the assassination of a global leader. Hugh Jackman, Halle Berry and Kelsey Grammar co-star.
