I don't know why you have to have new hoses with the install. I had metal hoses on my old machine. I have never had a metal hose fail yet.

The washer works very well and does a good job cleaning all clothes. The only negative I have is the end of cycle plays a long musical tone and there is no way to shorten it. You can only turn it off.
